NoSQL Workbench for Amazon DynamoDB is now generally available. NoSQL Workbench is a client-side application, available for Windows and macOS, that helps developers build scalable, high-performance data models, and simplifies query development and testing.

DynamoDB is a fully managed NoSQL database service that provides fast and predictable performance with seamless scalability. Designing scalable, flexible data models is essential to using nonrelational databases. However, designing data models can be challenging, particularly when building new applications whose data access patterns are not yet known. NoSQL Workbench helps simplify and accelerate the process of building data models by providing a rich graphical user interface to visualize data and perform DynamoDB operations.

With NoSQL Workbench, developers can easily build new data models from scratch, or import and modify existing data models. Developers also can visualize data models based on their applications' access patterns and export the model in several different formats. NoSQL Workbench also provides query development features to view, explore, and query datasets as well as a structured operation builder to perform data-plane operations and generate sample code in multiple languages. In addition, you can connect to your DynamoDB local instance, the downloadable version of DynamoDB, directly from NoSQL Workbench to develop and test your DynamoDB applications in your local development environment without incurring any additional costs.

To get started, download NoSQL Workbench. For questions and support, see the DynamoDB forum.
